1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Layered, playful, clean lines with some femininity.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I figure out the concept behind the project and use the constraints to zero in on what can feasibly be done. The narrative helps define where the project will go.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
While I was in a junior position I worked for Peter Marino, I still was able to witness his genius- his ability to follow each element of every project that went out of his office. I respect and admire his ability to express each of the luxury retail brands in its own ever-evolving unique visual language while also choosing gorgeous materials, furniture and art for each residential project.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I go to Art fairs, galleries and museums for inspiration (NYC has a wealth of it all). By looking at different media from the type of project I’m pursuing, inspiration may come volumetrically, graphically, or through the use of materials.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I tried to get my hands in many different types of projects each informing the other in the design process. My experience living and working in Italy while studying Industrial design helped develop my skills and style. For young designers, I think the best opportunities can arise if you have a great skill set. Good relationships and networks are also invaluable. From there, if you can learn how to think critically and develop work around great minds, those experiences will inform you throughout your career.
