1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I love decorating with common objects in uncommon ways, blending organic, earthy pieces with bright bold colors.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

For me, I know how I want the end result to ‘feel’, so I just begin with an inspirational piece and let the project unfold as I go. I let myself get into a creative flow.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

My background is horticulture/garden design and through this I have been exposed to so many amazingly talented designers, all with their own unique styles. Creating intimate ‘outdoor rooms’ that have no ceiling or walls forces you to really dig deep for creative solutions.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Once I know the vision for a project, the ideas begin to flow. I usually come up with more than I need which sits like a seed waiting to be rediscovered for a future related project.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I would say that my diverse background allows me to draw on all those skill sets and approach projects from many different angles. Blogging constantly challenges me to find unique design solutions. My advice is to constantly stretch beyond your comfort zone, that is where the real magic happens.
