1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style is really described as a mix of things that make you happy. I don’t think I have a particular style because I believe your home should be a true reflection of who you are. When designing a space, I like to take the clients lifestyle and bring it to the space

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Listening. Listening to my clients and getting a true sense of who they are and what they want to use the space for. Then I want to take the things they love and use it as my guide.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I love everyone I work with. I don’t have one particular person that I use over and over again, because every space is unique and requires different people. I LOVE color, so maybe I love my painters and upholsters most!

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

You can find inspiration anywhere. Living in the NYC area you’ll often find inspiration on every street corner. But when designing for a client, I often times find most inspiration in their homes, right in their closets sometimes.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

My career actually started through event design. I started as a wedding and events planner and through planning realized that a lot of what I do is design. While I didn’t always physically make centrepieces and bouquets, I was always very visual with the creative I worked with about what I wanted. Then clients who loved what I did for the biggest days of their lives wanted my help designing their new homes. Which has brought me here and I absolutely love this new chapter. Just like the weddings I’ve designed I am able to incorporate two people into one space and make it something they will love and can enjoy forever (or at least 2-3 years until they change their minds or have kids!). My advice is to not give up. Nothing in life is easy, but if you really want it, get up every day and pursue. Eventually, it will all work out.
