1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

If I find something I love, I figure out a way to work it in. But for the most part I’m a minimalist with my home decor because I hate dusting!

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I start by working out a color palette. I’m particularly digging yellow, mustard and midnight blue right now. If color isn’t important, I’ll start with a key element like an item and work around it.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I respect and admire my contributors the most. There are 6 fabulous ladies who craft, cook and write for my site and without them I’d be so completely snowed under. I appreciate so much that they are willing to share their thoughts, ideas and creativity with my readers. I’d be lost without these lovely creative ladies!

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I’ll walk through stores, browse online or just sit in a quiet room with nothing but pen and paper until inspiration strikes. I make lists of ideas and then only work on the ones I think are the best.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I’m at the point in my career now where my creative work is paying the bills exclusively and it is wonderful. I got to this point by working hard and taking risks. Would the start up costs for a blog be worth it in the end or an expensive hobby? Anyone who wants to try and blog for a living first needs to start a blog! Throw away the idea that you can’t succeed or that your ideas aren’t good enough. Get out there and give it a go!
