1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style is always evolving. I love bright colors and doing something unexpected when working on a piece of furniture. Something as simple as a large bold knob on an antique dresser creates drama.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I first look at the style of the furniture piece then decide if I want to play up that style or go in a different direction. Then I make my paint selection and choose the hardware. The hardware is an important part of the furniture makeover…if not the most important!

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Martha Leone of Martha Leone Designs always wows me with her creative furniture makeovers. We have conversed via the internet but I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her in person. She is truly artistic and looking at one of her furniture pieces is like looking at a work of art.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Sometimes the colors in an article of clothing catch my eye or it may be a beautiful furniture piece on Pinterest, and other times it’s the furniture painted by my friends that inspire me.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Having a blog has pushed me to work harder, paint more, and work on my photography skills. It has also brought many creative ladies into my life! The advice I have for others….if you don’t love it…don’t do it.
